We are Play Association Hammersmith and Fulham, a West London children’s charity which focuses on SEN children and young people aged 8 – 18+ who come from local communities, disadvantaged backgrounds and/or have complex needs.
We provide an SEN after school club, weekend respite and holiday provision in partnership with local authorities to enhance their local offer.
Play Association believe that every child has the right to play freely, and that play is an essential part of the welfare and development of children. We work to promote and deliver children’s play opportunities in West London, in response to local need. We do this in a range of ways including:
-
Delivering specialist play provisions for children with complex needs.
-
Delivering individualized, bespoke play and mentoring services for individuals
-
Representing SEN young people on various partnerships, network and forums, to promote independent living
PAHF was founded in 2003 by a group of local people who recognised the need to support and create high-quality accessible play opportunities for children and young people living in the borough. Starting off with a small playground and a shed full of toys, the organisation became a registered charity and company limited by guarantee in 2005. Since then we have grown to be a medium sized charity and are still expanding.
