We are Play Association Hammersmith and Fulham, a London wide children’s charity that works with children and young people aged 8 – 18+ who come from local communities, disadvantaged backgrounds and/or have complex needs.

We run play services in the greater London area in partnership with local authorities and we offer services to tenant’s and resident’s associations during the school holidays and afterschool to promote inclusion, improve play in estates and communities and enhance their local offer.

Play Association believe that every child has the right to play freely, and that play is an essential part of the welfare and development of children. We work to promote and deliver children’s play opportunities in West London, in response to local need. We do this in a range of ways including:

  • Delivering specialist play provisions for children with complex needs.

  • Delivering outreach play sessions in deprived areas

  • Delivering individualized, bespoke play and mentoring services for individuals

  • Providing support to play in the borough and promoting good models of playwork practice

  • Representing the play sector on various partnerships and networks

We provide opportunities through the various play projects that we offer ranging from:

  • A Complex needs respite/play provision

  • Bespoke work for those whom play scheme is not appropriate or is not meeting their needs

  • Junior Youth work

  • Stay and play schemes

PAHF was founded in 2003 by a group of local people who recognised the need to support and create high-quality accessible play opportunities for children and young people living in the borough. Starting off with a small playground and a shed full of toys, the organisation became a registered charity and company limited by guarantee in 2005. Since then we have grown to be a medium sized charity and are still expanding.
