About Us - Misson Statement

Play Association Hammersmith & Fulham believes every child has the right to access high quality play opportunities and a range of recreational activities that meet their needs. Childcare services should also benefit all children and young people by putting their best interest first.

Play is an essential part of the development, welfare and education of children. PAHF is committed to promoting the best possible play experience wherever it occurs: on the streets, in playschemes, play centres, after school clubs, adventure playgrounds, parks, housing estates, in leisure facilities, on residential holidays and camping trips, in homes, temporary accommodation, schools and hospitals.

PAHF will work to:

  • Continue to deliver and further develop quality play provision for children and young people with a variety of complex needs for those living in Hammersmith and Fulham and neighbouring boroughs
  • Create and support play and recreational opportunities that are stimulating, challenging, offer a range of play choices and are child-centred
  • Campaign within local government to gain political support for play opportunities benefiting Hammersmith and Fulham’s children
  • Play its full part in protecting children from injury, bullying and abuse
  • Ensure that no children are denied access to play because of disability, health problems, or belonging to new communities. PAHF will strive to implement its Equal Opportunities policies in everything it does

To achieve these aims, PAHF will seek to work in partnership with play service providers, local communities, Hammersmith and Fulham Council and with other agencies - to secure new and diverse forms of funding, and to preserve current funding and resources for children's play in Hammersmith and Fulham and beyond.
